Menstrual Back Pain: Everything that there is to know about it

Menstrual Back Pain

The menstrual cycle or menstrual period is a natural phenomenon that most women experience every month. It is also a natural phenomenon that some women hate because of its negative aspect – the menstrual back pain. The menstrual back pain may occur every month and its symptoms are considered by some women as torture. The symptoms of menstrual back pain aside from the rapidly changing emotional state are fatigue that makes your body feel weak or sickly, irritating headache, nausea, dizziness, and digestive problems such as diarrhea, constipation, and gas pains. Some women also suffer from depression and anxiety.

These symptoms are caused by the hormonal changes that occur during the menstrual cycle that ultimately affects the back muscles. Therefore, there is something that triggers the back pain that they experience every month.

Women who suffer from menstrual back pains are bound to hate the molecular compounds that are released when the uterine lining begins to break down. This molecular compound is called prostaglandin since it is the reason why the back pains occur. Prostaglandin is a member of the lipid compounds that play an important role in our body. It has 3 various types that are called prostaglandin I2 or PGI2, prostaglandin E2 or PGE2, and prostaglandin F2α or PGF2α.

However, the hormone responsible for the uterine contraction that usually happens during the menstruation which ultimately affects the back muscle of the body is prostaglandin F2α or PGF2α. The prostaglandin F2α is responsible for the uterine contraction and bronchoconstriction. Therefore, the uterine contraction that is caused by prostaglandin F2α during a woman’s menstrual period greatly affects the entirety of her body.

The menstrual back pain is not to be worried about since most women are experiencing this every month which means that some women are fortunate enough to not suffer from this kind of experience. It occurs together with the natural phenomenon called the menstrual cycle. During the monthly menstrual cycle or menstrual period, the molecular compounds called prostaglandins are released. There are women who suffer more than the others because of the symptoms aforementioned above that eventually become severe. For women who suffer severe symptoms of menstrual back pain, they are advised to visit their gynecologist to talk about how to take care of it since there are drugs that are prescribed or hormonal therapies that are suggested to relieve them from the severe symptoms.

Nevertheless, the women who naturally suffer this phenomenon every menstrual cycle have a lot of options to consider in relieving them from the annoying pain. There are drugs that are over the counter that would help them in relieving the pain such as Advil or Midol.

However, there are also natural remedies that should help them like drinking more water. This is because women who are having their menstrual cycle are usually dehydrated. Therefore, it is much better if they drink a lot of water since it would also relieve them from the discomfort that they feel. There are also exercises that are suggested for women who suffer from menstrual back pains such as bending sideways with a repeated right and left motion, crouching down halfway and letting their arms swing back in a natural position, swinging their hips from the left to the right with a gradual increase of movement, and many more.

In conclusion, menstrual back pains naturally happen during the menstrual cycle of most women. It is something that is annoying and it causes discomfort for the women who are suffering from this. It is caused by a molecular compound called prostaglandin that is released during the menstrual cycle that triggers the back muscles to ache.

Furthermore, it is not a serious occurrence to be worried about since it, indeed, occurs every menstrual cycle. However, there are instances that some of the women suffer severe symptoms. There are options that are available for the women who are suffering from this that would relieve them from the pain and discomfort.
